Nick Solares is a food writer, photographer, and on air personality. With over a decade of experience in the food space he was a pioneering food blogger who has successfully transitioned to both print media and now video.
Writing first for Beef Aficionado, his personal food blog, Nick went on to work for the two most influential digital food websites: Serious Eats and Eater, as well as a feature writer for AM New York newspaper. As a reviewer for Serious Eats and as restaurant editor at Eater NY Nick has spent years in the New York restaurant scene eating out nightly and forging lasting relationships with chefs, restaurateurs, and purveyors. Nick is widely regarded as an authority on meat eating and restaurant culture.
In 2016 Nick began hosting The Meat Show (TMS) for Eater Video. The show is completely literal — it follows Nick’s exploration of meat culture across the US and the world. With weekly episodes TMS has visited Japan, New Orleans, Texas, Philadelphia, and NYC. With over a million monthly views across YouTube, Facebook and Eater.com TMS has amassed a devoted following. TMS received NY Emmy nominations in both 2016 and 2017. Nick will be heading our Bastecamp area conducting in-depth talks & demos on dry-aging and curing including tastings and DIY techniques.
