Dee Laffan

Dee Laffan is a freelance journalist and editor with over 15 years of experience in the areas of food, drink and travel. In 2022, Dee co-founded Scoop food magazine, of which she is editor-in-chief, a new bi-annual, long-form Irish food magazine focusing on storytelling. The latest issue 'Eat Your Feelings' was published in May 2023.

Dee has edited and written for a wide selection of Irish national newspapers and magazines including being former editor of Food&Wine, Easy Food and Yes Chef! and publishing director of fft. hospitality title. She was also co-host of the award-winning Spice Bags podcast for three years until its conclusion in May 2023. 

Her passion for food has led her to many roles in the industry including being a judge of Blas na hÉireann and a proud member of the Irish Food Writers’ Guild, however hosting is one of her favourite roles, especially at Big Grill, and you can catch her at Bastecamp all weekend hosting demos and having the craic!
