Tickets & Admission

  • Your ticket guarantees admission to the festival where you can sample an array of hero dishes from Ireland & The World’s top live fire chefs and restaurants. It gives you access to Bastecamp & Brewcamp for in-depth live fire demos, talks, tastings and workshops with a host of talent.

    On top of that, there will be a free kids area, music & entertainment, eating competitions, a host of bars and Irish Craft Breweries. There will be plenty of interesting vendors offering everything from rubs to sauces, corn dogs to ice creams and all manner of delights in between!

  • Tickets purchased for Saturday sessions are valid for those sessions only. In order to clean and replenish the site, we require the site clear between each session to make way for the next session.

    For Whole Hog Tickets, you are permitted to attend all sessions all days, however, you must vacate the site between each session. A dedicated re-entry lane will be available for Whole Hog ticket holders.

    The only day that has split sessions is Saturday 19th August.

  • Yes, but only when accompanied by a responsible adult. Full ticket price applies.

  • Yes, a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase from the Gate/Box Office at Herbert Park on the day unless a given day is sold out in advance.

    Please note: Friday and Saturday tickets usually sell out in advance.

Location & How To Get There

  • Big Grill Festival will take place in Herbert Park, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Ireland from August 22nd - 25th, 2024.

    Entrance to the festival is via the Herbert Park Road entrance.

    TIMES:

    Thursday 22nd August: 4pm–10pm (bar closes 9.45pm)

    Friday 23rd August: 4pm–10pm (bar closes 9.45pm)

    Saturday 24th August:

    Day Slot: 11am–4pm (bar closes 3.45pm)

    Eve Slot: 5:30pm-10:30pm (bar closes 10:15pm)

    Sunday 25th August: 12pm–8pm (bar closes 7.45pm)

  • We advise coming along by public transport as parking is limited and restricted in the area.

    The Dart’s nearest stations Lansdowne Road and Sandymount are but a hop skip and a jump away. If you fancy coming along by bus then jump on any of the 46a, 145, 7 or the 39a. The Ranelagh Luas stop is a short walk away.

    Please do not obstruct driveways, neighbouring properties or park illegally as this can cause great inconvenience to our neighbours.

    It is also easily accessible by foot, bicycle & car.

  • Yes, it is all on one level without steps, with a designated trackway in the main areas.

    Disabled toilet facilities are available.

  • Small umbrellas are permitted only.

Food & Drinks

  • Yes. Craft beers, cider, wines, cocktails, whiskey, gin, juices, soft drinks, coffee and teas will be available.

  • Yep, provided it is empty upon arrival.

    We will have filling stations around the site where you can fill up your bottle.

  • The festival will offer heaps of small-plate BBQ dishes so you can try as many different dishes from as many chefs as possible.

    The prices will start from €8(TBC) for a participating restaurant's hero dish. Bear in mind, some dishes vary in pricing based on the quality of meat and ingredients used.

    Craft beer is from €4.50(TBC) for a glass and €7(TBC) for a pint. Long drinks and cocktails start from €11 (TBC).

  • No, outside food and drinks is permitted inside the festival gates.

    Only food & drinks purchased inside the events are permitted, with the exception of baby food.

  • Contactless and mobile payments will be available throughout the site, you can pay by card or mobile at all vendors.

    This is a cashless event, however, you can purchase Big Grill Smokin’ Cards using cash or card at the box office or merchandise stand. These cards can be used to spend at all vendors.

  • Smokin cards are pre-loaded cards you can use to spend on food, drink and everything else at the event.

    They come pre-loaded in €20, €30 and €50 cards and are available to top-up during the event.

    They’re great if you want to pay in cash or distribute them to a group as spending money.

    Pre-orders for Smokins will close on July 21st 2023, please email hospitality@biggrillfestival.com for more information.

    A very limited amount will be available to purchase from the box office and merch stand.

Payments At The Event

Demos, Competitions & Entertainment

  • Bastecamp is the smoking hub of the festival. Expect demos and workshops with some of the best live fire cooks, chefs and teachers in the business.

    There will be heated chats, interviews and profiles with our Pitmasters and plenty more surprises.

  • Yes, there will be a lovely big children’s area with entertainment, face painting, arts & crafts, soft play and puppet shows.

    There’ll also be a buggy park, child-friendly food and lots more to be added too. The kids’ area is available Saturday & Sunday 12-4pm only.

    For 2023, we have increased the size of the kids’ area to allow extra space for all the Little Grillers.

  • We host a series of eating competitions at Big Grill. We host a hot chilli eating competition each evening on the main stage.

  • Entry to the competitions will open closer to the date, announced via our mailing list and social channels.

  • Yep, of course! There will be a host of DJs, live acts and walk-around brass bands.

  • There are lots of ATMs in the Ballsbridge and Donnybrook area but not on site.

    We accept card, contactless and mobile payments at all vendors within the event.

    You can use cash to purchase Smokin Cards if you wish. Smokin Cards can then be used just like a debit card throughout the site.

  • Yes, located adjacent to the kids area.

  • Big Grill is a rain-or-shine event.

    Please check the weather forecast before you arrive and make sure to dress accordingly.

    It never hurts to have a rain jacket or warm jumper for walking home post-event. Sure ‘tis Ireland after all ;)

  • Unfortunately, no animals are allowed inside the event, with the exception of registered assistance animals.

Booking terms & conditions apply to all ticket purchases, please take the time to read them carefully before your purchase.

PLEASE NOTE:

Large bags and backpacks will NOT be allowed into the festival, only small bags measuring no bigger than A4 (8.27in/21cm x 11.7in/29.7cm) will be permitted into the event. Bags smaller than A4 will be searched on entry, to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag. No food or drink can be brought in either, unless it's for babies & kids.

There will be no cloakroom or storage facilities. Bags must not be left at entrances or surrounding areas. Any items left will be removed and disposed of accordingly.

Buggies, prams & 1 small chair per person are ok to bring in. Small umbrellas are ok.
